Join us: free travel wobble-boarding

The NSW Government’s shocking management of our transport services and shocking treatment of its workforce was thrust into the public eye when it shut down our rail network on February 21 and tried to blame workers for it.

It was a disgraceful display from the NSW Government.

As a way of compensating commuters for its rail shutdown, rail workers called on the government to give commuters free travel. When they didn’t, rail workers forced their hand.

Now, commuters in Sydney will get free travel between 14 – 26 April 2022. It’s small compensation for the NSW Government’s atrocious act, but compensation nonetheless.

The NSW Government is trying to use the free travel period to win back the support of commuters, but we know the free travel is the result of the hard work of rail workers – not of the government at all.

We want you to join us on the ground at your local station to speak to the public and help us put up corflutes to show commuters the hard work behind getting free transport.

Will you join us? On Thursday 14th April we’ll have volunteers at stations across Sydney holding corflutes (wobble-boarding!) and telling commuters that their free travel is thanks to our rail workers. We want you to be there too!
