Call on the NSW Government to cut public transport fares now

People across NSW are being hit hard by rising fuel prices and growing cost of living pressures.

Getting to work, school and essential services is becoming more expensive every week. At the same time, more people are turning to public transport to manage rising fuel costs.

The NSW Government has a role to play in supporting the people of NSW and making access to public transport easier.

Lowering public transport fares is one of the fastest ways to deliver real cost of living relief. It puts money back into people’s pockets and makes it easier for workers and families to get where they need to go.

It also helps reduce pressure on fuel demand, supporting regional communities and industries that rely on it most.

That’s why we’re calling on the NSW Government to:

  • Reduce public transport fares immediately
  • Increase services across the network
  • Work with unions, operators and agencies to coordinate a rapid response

Public transport should support people through this moment, not add to the pressure.
